The Farm

Our family is doing a small share crop with my old principal, Steve Fisher, who I taught for up till Sierra was born.  They have a great old family farm and welcome us out there to pick our own veggies but also enjoy the animals.  I thought this would be a wonderful thing for Sierra this summer.  So yesterday I asked Sierra if she wanted to go out to a farm with me.  She said Oh sure and then left the room.  She came back dressed like this....with a winter hat and scarf on.  I told her it would probably be too hot outside for that.  This little girl keeps me smiling.

When we first got there Sierra wanted to check out all the sheep.  Lots of them and even cute little lambs.  If you talked to them is seemed like they all responded back with their, "baaa" loud and clear.  A few were willing to come up and smell Sierra's hand and she thought this was great!
Then we headed over to pick some lettuce to take home.  The other crops are just growing at the moment, but we had a great variety of all sorts of lettuce to pick.  Sierra really liked doing this.

Then we headed over to the chicken coop.  Sierra wanted to pet them too but I told her they do more pecking with their beak than anything.  The rooster gave out a really loud call while we were over there.
If you know Sierra well you know she'll chase a cat anywhere and that's what she did with all of the farm cats.  They were a little skiddish so but she got to pet one and thought it was the best.
She found an old swing to enjoy....
And she finished up checking out the sheep again but this time thought they were being too loud. Nice time out there...looking forward to going out on a regular basis.
