Sierra and I took on the first round of making Christmas cookies. I decided we would first make sugar cookies since Sierra loves play-doh and yes she did try to play with it like play-doh.
Once we got started she got into it. She enjoyed cutting out the candy canes, snowmen, stars, and gingerbread men. But it wasn't anything compared to "sprinkles" in this little girl's book. After maybe the second cookie she kept trying to lick the sprinkles off her fingers and asked if she could eat every cookie we made. So I caved and let her eat probably the 4th cookie decorated.
It really was to my advantage to cave because after that she really got into decorating, maybe a little too much. Some cookies got a major dumping of sprinkles all in one place. But hey, who doesn't want extra sprinkles, right?! She kept asking her Daddy if he wanted to try and he finally came over and she stared at him eating his cookie the entire time (her little mind thinking longing for that one too.)
This picture above shows a "happy face" that was given permission to eat all the sprinkles on the paper plates when we were done. Fun memory.
