Walk Through Bethlehem

Sunday we met up with Papa and Gigi to do the "Walk Through Bethlehem" in Green Hills.  Woodmont Community Church sets up their gymnasium to look just like the days when Jesus was born.  Wood chips all over the floor, authentic crafts for the kids to make, foods of the day to taste, and animals to visit.  The Roman guards walking around saying, "Make way for the Roman guards" and you were expected to move out of the way.  A Rabbi was there to talk, and may people are dressed up in garb of the day and stayed in character the entire time.  Sierra made a pottery candle you put oil into with a wick, a rag time doll, and use the machine of the day to twist twine to make tent ropes.
Walking through brought a lot of reflection to how things were for Mary and Joseph bringing this little baby into the world at their time.  Thank you to this church for providing this free ministry each year.  I remember going a long time ago in middle school.  Over 7,000 people go through in a 6 hour period.
