For my birthday my parents got me a season pass to the zoo, so Friday the three of us headed out there. It was a cooler morning but turned into a nice day. We saw the elephants first. They came up real close. It was great for a couple who had just gotten married and was there in their wedding attire taking pictures. One elephant stopped right behind them for the perfect shot.
I guess because it was early and very few people there the animals were up close and active. I think that is the most active I've seen the "cats" of the zoo.

It's funny what a difference you notice when you don't have your "good" camera with you in the quality of pictures. Plus the morning light was not in the right spot. But still some cute shots.

Sierra calls flamingos " Bobs". No idea why but she was happy to see the Bobs at the zoo. They were all on one leg with their heads between their wings trying to stay warm.
After lunch we finished our time at the Jungle Park. Man, its a great playground/ park area. Lots of things to do. Sierra had fun doing almost all of it. My favorite clearest shot of the day is this last one where she is gazing out of the playground. We'll be going lots of times in the next year.
