Sierra's 2nd Year

So here is my letter to Sierra for her second year of life.  So much to remember, such a blessing to have her in our lives.

Happy 2nd Birthday Precious Sierra

Wow, Sierra another year under your belt.  Your Mommy and Daddy love you so much and find life so much grander and joyous with you in our lives.  You started your second year off in CA.  Soon after your first birthday when you were almost 14 months you started walking and once you got started you never stopped.  You now walk, run, hop, and dance all day long.  We found out at your 1st year appointment that you are allergic to egg whites and dog dander, but it hasn’t stopped you from loving on pets in the least.  You got to go on your first camping trip near Lake Arrowhead at Dogwood with Uncle Jeff, Aunt, Lisa, and cousin Gabby.  You had a blast! You also took your first swim lessons in CA with Mommy.  You got to where you loved to jump off the side into my arms.  You also took a road trip with just me to visit family in Phoenix.  Dora, Elmo, Strawberry Shortcake, and Curious George are your choice shows if you get to watch.  You got a chance to ride your very first pony on your own.  You thought it was the best thing ever!  In our last week in CA you sadly got a high fever of 105 so we spent the last week at home helping you re-coop.  But you made it through.
In our transition to move to TX we went to a cousin’s wedding in NC.  You had a blast dancing and eating watermelon the entire day.  Then we headed to TN to see family for a couple weeks before we met up with Daddy.  You had your first opportunities to hang with all of your cousins at the same time.  Maggie and Ben came back from Africa so you had tons of fun playing with them.  Liam was there too, so the cousin time was big and grand.  Your love for your two “pups” Josie a.k.a. Jo Jo and Drexie only grew.  You talk about them as well as your Mimi, Bapa, Gigi, and Papa all the time, especially if you Mommy is on the phone.
We finally made it to San Angelo, TX, our new home for the next season of life.  Sadly the first week you broke your leg on the slide and had to wear a black boot for several weeks, but you took it like a trooper and by the end your were not only walking in your boot, but running.  You adjusted well here.  You love love going to parks and being outside.   You started going to Mommy Day Out once a week on Thursdays.  You seem to really enjoy it, since you say good-bye to me before we make it to your classroom door.  We took the long trek down to GA to celebrate Thanksgiving with all of your Mommy’s extended family.  32 family members for dinner, wow!  Christmas was in TX this year with your Uttz family.  You got to see your Uncle Ryan again after more than a year.  For Christmas you got a kitchen set and man you loved it!  You are such a wonderful pretend player.  You love to feed anyone or any stuffed animal that is around a great meal.  In February we headed back to TN to visit family.  You had exciting times playing with your cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, pups, and friends.  You got to enjoy your first rodeo this year at the 6th largest one, no less in the nation.  You were in awe of it all and by the end cheering and clapping with everyone else by the end.
How to share all you have been doing this past year…you are such a fun loving, people oriented, strong willed child.  You love still love to say “Tickle tickle” and now tickle too.  You are becoming quite the little talker.  Kitty is ultimately your favorite toy.  But puppy holds a close second.  You enjoy dancing to music, playing in the rocks out front, helping me with laundry, helping with cooking, and putting on make up with Mommy in the morning.  You have taken a liking to showering for your “bubbles” instead of baths.  You have gotten into coloring, as you say “color” and playing with play-doh.  No interest in puzzle despite my attempts.   You are a child that has to be reminded the correct way to act on things numerous times before you’ll finally do it, only because of your stubbornness. (smiles) You are no longer content with your dirty diapers so potty training will probably come soon.  You are so expressive and keep those around you smiling with your little waves and happy face.   You give great hugs and kisses now too.  Your Mommy and Daddy are so proud of the little lady you are growing into.  I thank God for blessing me with you, my sweet Sierra.  You bring me so much joy and teach me so much even at your young age.  Know that I love you with all of my heart and thank God I get to be your Mommy yet another year.
                                                                                                           Your Mommy
