Beach Vacation

Our vacation to Folly Beach, just outside of Charleston...the first family vacation Jonathan and I have gotten to take, now with kiddos, since Sierra was born.  Gigi and Papa joined us for the first time too.  So much strategic planning with kids to make it work, but it did.  On the way down we stop outside of Atlanta at a mall and it worked perfect for playing and burning off energy.  I think Wyatt might have enjoyed it more.  Sierra got to go to a Disney Store for the first time and picked Periwinkle, Tinkerbell's sister as her toy.
We were seeing high chances of rain each day we were there but the weather blessed us with sunshine everyday.  Here we are when we first got to the beach.  All Sierra wanted to do was run in and out of the water.  My heart was so full watching her.

A chair inside our beach house...Wyatt loved that he could himself up on it with no help.
 beach shots...

busy, happy always sandy faces...love them

Monday night we all went out to The Grill.  Best shrimp and grits I have ever had.  Soo good!  Below were the other restaurants we enjoyed throughout the week.
 Such a good sweet Daddy.
Folly Beach we enjoyed all week. It was a 5 minute walk from our beach house and the beach and water were perfect.

We spent Thursday in Charleston.  We took a water taxi boat ride first thing that morning and had the entire ride to ourselves.  We saw several dolphins, one particularly close and Sierra saw them.  That excited me more than seeing it myself.  We also saw mullet fish in schools appearing to be "flying" out of the water as they swam away from the dolphins.  Super neat.

Then we walked about Waterfront Park and Batter Park.  Lots and lots of huge homes.

Enjoyed some super delicious Belgium Gelato there too.  Soo good!

We really spent most of our time at the beach and it was perfect.  We all loved it and couldn't have asked for better weather, low 80's with a breeze.

Our crossroads and a picture of our beach house.
marshy area views from our back deck.

 3 generations of boys...love it!
This girl every morning would run on the beach and every morning would ask if she could get her clothes wet.  Total abandonment, warms a mama's heart over and over.

These two had so much fun playing in the wet sand. Sierra called it her 'mud pies' and Wyatt loves crawling everywhere in it and pushing his fingers, particularly his thumbs into it.  He loved the cool sand.
Extremely blessed by this trip.  Just what we all needed to start back into another school year.  Sierra's last before she starts school.  Thankful we had this time.
