First time checking out

Sierra and I met our friends at the Spring Hill Library today.  Hoping this will be our weekly time to enjoy the Story time and pick out some books.  If you know my sweet little girl, you know she is very busy, so until a few months ago getting her to sit down and read books just because didn't happen often.  But she really loves to read now so the library has become fun on a whole new level.

This week in Story time the theme was "color".  She sang a train song about colors and read several cute books.  Then the kids got to play with the "colorful" parachute.  Sierra's friend Gentry is on the left.  They loved it.  After the story time they always have a craft, something I like because Sierra is so crafty herself.  Today they got to paint on newspaper and then rub another paper on top to make their painted print.  Sierra insisted on covering the entire piece of newspaper with paint before we could make her print.

After Sierra got to pick out her first books to check out from the library.  Of course she had to find a "Dora" one in the bunch.  I picked out some Fancy Nancy in there as well.  She happen to find the DVD section so she got to pick out A Cat in the Hat and a Dora video.  She had a great time and this mama will have fun getting to spend more time in the library.
